What We Collect

When you create an account, we collect:

Full Name — used to identify you to your teacher.
Email Address — used for authentication and password recovery.
Learning Progress — challenge completion status, code submissions, and attempt metrics so you can track your learning and teachers can monitor class progress.

If you use Python Coach without creating an account, all progress is stored locally in your browser and we collect nothing.

How We Use Your Data

To let you sign in and sync progress across devices.
To allow teachers to view enrolled students' progress within their classroom.
To provide password recovery via email.

We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising.

Data Storage

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides encrypted storage and authentication services. Data is hosted within the EU/UK region.

Your Rights

Under UK GDPR / EU GDPR, you have the right to:

Access your personal data.
Correct inaccurate data.
Delete your account and all associated data.
Export your data in a portable format.

Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion, all personal data (profile, progress, and enrolment records) will be removed within 30 days.

Children's Privacy

Python Coach is designed for educational use by students aged 13 and over. If a student is under 13, parental or guardian consent should be obtained before creating an account. Schools acting as data controllers may create accounts on behalf of students under their existing educational agreements.
