Python Coach is a subscription service for schools. By using the platform, you agree to these terms. Subscriptions renew annually. You can cancel at any time. We own the platform; you own your data.

Who these terms apply to

These terms apply to teachers, school administrators, and any other adults who register for a Python Coach account or purchase a subscription on behalf of a school. Students access the platform under the supervision of their school, which is responsible for obtaining any necessary consents.

Using Python Coach

Python Coach is provided for educational use in secondary schools. You agree to use the platform only for its intended purpose — teaching and learning Python programming. You must not attempt to reverse engineer, copy, or redistribute any part of the platform.

Accounts are personal and must not be shared. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.

Subscriptions and payment

Python Coach subscriptions are annual and priced per school. Current pricing is available at pythoncoach.org. Prices are exclusive of VAT; Python Coach is not currently VAT registered.

Payment is accepted by card (processed by Stripe) or by BACS bank transfer following invoice. Invoices are due within 30 days of issue.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. You will receive reminder emails at 30, 14, 7, and 1 day before renewal.

Early Bird pricing, where applicable, is locked for the life of the subscription provided it remains active and is not cancelled.

Trial period

New schools receive a free trial period of 60 calendar days from the date of first student enrolment. During the trial, lessons 1–10 are available without a subscription. Lessons 11–27 require an active subscription.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — access continues until that date. We do not offer refunds for unused portions of a subscription period.

Data ownership

You own your data. Python Coach does not claim any rights over student progress data, code submissions, or any other content created by your students or teachers on the platform. Our use of your data is governed by our Privacy Policy.

On cancellation or account deletion, your data remains accessible for 30 days before being permanently deleted, giving you time to export anything you need.

Availability and support

We aim to keep Python Coach available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We will notify users of planned maintenance where possible.

Limitation of liability

Python Coach is provided in good faith for educational use. To the extent permitted by law, Python Coach is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from use of the platform, including loss of data or interruption to teaching.

Our total liability to you in any 12-month period shall not exceed the amount you paid for your subscription in that period.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify active subscribers by email at least 14 days before any material changes take effect. Continued use of the platform after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
